Badael-Alternatives

Today's issue of Badael-Alternatives in Al-Akhbar: My editorial on "Competitive advantage", an article I have compiled on the increase in world food prices and how this can be an opportunity for some developing countries. Marianna Yazbeck writes two articles this week: one on wild plant salads of this season, and the other on capers, and Rana Hayek on Aspartame. Check the nice caricature by Makhlouf from Egypt, a newcomer to our team.

I like the arabic article of Ms. Mariana, that talks about قرص العنة
but I'd like to make sure if the following photos are for the same edible plant that the article is referring to?

Hi a b…

Yes, this is the plant I was referring to in the article. Isn’t it a wonderful and unusual color for a plant??

I enjoy reading your articles and another sister is publishing them in saowt forum for other people to read and learn.

The plant that is common in North Lebanon and people used to collect it and eat it as Salad is much smaller though has the same colors and shape. When it is that large, people are not much interested to have it.
